Taleem-e-Balighan was aired on PTV in 1966 and PTV itself came into being in 1964. So the drama was one of the earliest productions of Pakistan Television. It was written by Khwaja Moinuddin and it was first presented on Radio Pakistan in 1956.
Taleem-e-Balighan is a classic drama and even after decades it is remembered and discussed and the memories are fresh. Though the drama was produced twice by PTV its first production is counted as the best. Based on the idea of providing basic education to the adults after the creation of Pakistan the drama presents an atmosphere of an adult education madrassa where an old teacher is appointed to teach the students. His students are from different fields of life and besides learning, they communicate with their teacher on different other topics. The teacher is not very happy with the salary and support provided by the government and also criticizes the changing norms and culture.
Mehmood Ali played the part of the teacher and did his best. Subhani Ba Younus, Qazi Wajid, Bakhtiar, and others played the roles of the students.
